Chuck is married to a 1962 graduate, Jackie (Hittle) Williams. He began his career at Manual as the Freshman Papoose at Homecoming. He was a photographer for the Booster and the Ivian for all four years as well as participating in ROTC and numerous other activities. He proudly served in the U.S. Army's 1st Armored Division in Bamberg, Germany reaching the rank of Sergeant E-5 in two years. Chuck is now retired after working 48 years in Sales Management at the Herff Jones Company. In 2009 Chuck discovered that Manual hadn't produced yearbooks for the students for 5 years. He took it upon himself to start a campaign to bring yearbooks back to Manual. Along with Gordon Durnil ('54), they managed to raise the money to print a 2010 Ivian. Chuck did the photography and helped produce the books through his association with Herff Jones. Through the efforts of these two men and the generous contributions of the Alumni and others, the students have had yearbooks for the last 5 years. The books are a gift to each senior and are sold at a reduced rate to underclassmen. To make a donation see the "Yearbook Project" page for details. |
