The prize-winning coiffures in a contest in Munich, Germany on
May 1, 1964. They were designed for evening wear and hairdressers said anyone with a little time can copy them. I don't recall seeing any of these at EMHS - Thank goodness.

Our Senior year, 1963-1964, I remember the guys would wear English Leather aftershave/cologne.   Is English Leather still available now?   l

Now that is a memory! Yes, English Leather is still available on https://www.amazon.com/
Just search for "English Leather aftershave" but be prepared to poney up a few bucks - $45 plus. I should have saved mine. :)

I also remember a later commercial that had the line "All my men wear English Leather or ...."

Thanks to You Tube you can check out that 1977 classic at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkTNX6VU71A

The dresses on those girls from the Military Ball are still lovely, as well as the girls.

If I remember correctly, English Leather was pretty strong stuff.  Remember when Angora socks were in?? Some girls had a color for every outfit I think.  Then there were the "flats" that we wore with hose.  Flats did not bode well for girls with a high arch. I was thrilled when hose without that seam up the back came into fashion.  Oh, and those pointed toed heels. Yikes!  When it came to fashion, the girls had so much more to worry about than the boys.

I worked at Blocks in the Southern Plaza shopping center and always bought my clothes with the money I made there.  One of my favorite outfits that I remember was a purple banlon  sweater, a matching purple plaid stitched down wool skirt and a white wool jacket that had an emblem on the chest.  White tennis shoes were popular and we didn't wash them then We used white shoe polish to cover up scuffs and I would wash the shoestrings. Looked like new every time.  I also remember saddle oxfords that had to always look polished and pristine. My first prom dress was strapless pale green with a full skirt and crinolines. My sister and shared it, as we were both the same size.  I never had a long dress for prom. Don't know why.
