Magdalene Coombes, 57, Indianapolis, died May 20, 2003. She was a nurse 37 years for I.U. Medical Center (Robert Long Hospital). Mrs. Coombes was an avid book reader who especially enjoyed Agatha Christie novels. She was also an animal lover and enjoyed collecting Betty Boop memorabilia. Services will be 10 a.m. May 24 in G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. May 23. Burial will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery. Survivors include son David A. Coombes; brother Michael O. Coombes; sister Louise Illingworth; cat Bogie.
