Gary W. Eby Age 59, a resident of Centerville, OH passed away Friday, March 17, 2006 at his residence. Gary was born in Lafayette, Indiana on September 27, 1946 to the late James and Thelma (nee Dine) Eby. He graduated in 1964 from Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Gary served in the Air Force from January 1966 through November 1969 as an air traffic controller, stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War. He worked for A.B. Dick Company for 35 years. He was a member of Garfield Christian Church in Indianapolis. Gary volunteered with the Emergency Department at Kettering Hospital as well as Miamisburg Parks and Recreation Department as "Mr. Bunny" for 9 years. Gary was a talented woodworker who loved to play golf, travel, and spend time with his family; especially his grandchildren. Gary always had a smile for whomever he met, and he loved to help people. He also loved to treat his wife like a princess. Gary was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his nephews: Nathaniel and Michael and great-niece, Jillian. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie (nee Howe) Eby; daughter, Kimberly (Chuck) Winter; son, Matthew (Christy) Eby; brother, Dale (Rhonda) Eby; sisters-in-law: Bonnie (Bill) Merritt, Karen (Keith) Swann and Vicki Bronstrup; brothers-in-law: Greg (Zona) Howe, Robert (Shannon) Howe and Scott Howe; six grandchildren: Caleb Eby, Grace Winter, Kaitlyn Eby, Alexa Eby, Isaac Winter and Elizabeth Winter; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins, including special cousin, Bob (Cindy) McClain; and many friends including special friend, Beulah Jones. Gary will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 North Main St. in Centerville, OH with Pastor John Swint officiating. Burial at Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20 at the funeral home. Charles Williams

Gary, his brother Larry, and his father Dale were all great friends and wonderful workers in our community.  We had a very active Boy Scout Troop 34 that met at Troub Church on Cottage Ave.  The Eby's were hard workers in scouts and very much an inspiration to the other scouts.  Gary was a big strong handsome guy but was as gentle as a lamb.  I regret the fact that we lost touch after high school and I miss you and your dad terribly.  Chuck Williams

Gary marrird Debbie Howe in 1966 2 children Kim born 1971 Matt born 1975. They moved to Centerville, OH 1979 Gary worked for AB Dick. He has 6 grandchildren Gary died 2006 of a brain tumor. Gary was a good friend for me until they moved to Ohio then we lost contact,his cousin was my first Wife Gary was also a Air Force veteran
