Kriseda Rae “Kris” Patterson, 73, of Martinsville and formerly Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital after a long courageous battle with her health. Kris was born on January 3, 1946 in Indianapolis to the late William and Roda (Mowwe) Pollard. Kris married the love of her life, Boyd Dewayne “Wayne” Patterson on June 28, 1986; Wayne survives.

Kris graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1964. After raising her children, she pursued her nursing career at J. Everett Light, graduating in 1981 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Kris worked at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove for many years; her focus mainly being geriatrics which she loved. Kris retired from nursing in 2009 when she became ill.

Kris loved her family and her pets that she considered family. Kris enjoyed being on a boat either at Lake Monroe or Dale Hollow Lake. Crocheting, owls, unicorns, road trips, country music, and the holidays were some of Kris’s favorite things. Kris will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Along with her parents, Kris is preceded in death by her brother, Steve Pollard.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Boyd Dewayne “Wayne” Patterson; children, Kamie Rae Davis and Joseph Matthew Davis-Patterson; a sister, Kathleen Thorpe; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Kris on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Final care and cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, Indianapolis.
